Therapeutic Recreation (B.S.)

Educational Preparation

You will begin your education at Longwood with a comprehensive background of general education courses in various related areas such as the behavioral sciences, social sciences, English, mathematics, biology, art, music, health education, and physical education. These areas of general education requirements and electives will greatly enhance your preparation for this dynamic field of endeavor.

You then will be exposed to a myriad of professional preparation courses which will be complemented by preliminary fieldwork and two internship experiences to help you acquire competencies necessary to be a superior entry-level professional in the field.
