Experiences |
|
Internships are
practical work experiences required of all
Therapeutic Recreation students. Each student
completes a minimum of 320-hour, 8-week internship
after the junior year, and a 560-hour, 14-week
senior internship experience after completion of all
course work. You will choose these opportunities
from a variety of facilities across the U.S. in the
areas of community, outdoor or clinical therapeutic
recreation services. Longwood has affiliation
contracts with more than 100 different agencies and
is continually adding more. In addition to
internships, several courses require volunteer
fieldwork to enhance the learning experience.
