Dr. Lust's current work focuses on a variety of applications of the theory of multiple intelligence: a graduate course (Music in the Integrated Curriculum) for practicing classroom teachers, a general education course for non-music majors, the elementary music methods class for music majors and a project in Brazil using music to teach English as a foreign language.  In 2001 Dr. Lust's Music/EFL project won the Partners of the American international award for program development.

As a Singer, Dr. Lust has presented many recitals on the east coast and in the Midwest. The author of American Vocal Chamber Music, 1945-1980, she has especially enjoyed singing the contemporary solo repertoire as well as the chamber music. From 1999-2006 Dr. Lust served as Chair of the Department of Music at Longwood.
