My Professional Page

I am currently a senior in the Kinesiology program with a concentration in exercise science at Longwood University. I chose exercise science because I am a very active person. I love sports and physical activity so I wanted to stay in that particular field of study. I did not realize how important exercise is until committing to this major. I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA in 2001. My expected date of undergraduate completion is December 2005.
EXPERIENCE: I completed 400 fitness practicum credit hours at Women's Fitness and Aerobic Center in Chesapeake, VA during the summer of 2004. During my spring semester of 2004 I completed 20 fitness practicum hours at The GYM in Farmville, VA.
CAREER GOALS: Upon completion of my undergraduate career at Longwood, I plan to attend Graduate school at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. While in graduate school, I plan to take the Health/Fitness Instructor certification exam in addition to the Strength and Conditioning Coach certification exam. I would like to become a strength and conditioning coach for a University in Virginia.
MY PHILOSOPHY: Exercise is the key to a complete and healthy lifestyle. There are so many benefits that come along with exercising. Exercise specialists need to help educate and motive all populations on physical activity and exercise. We need to show people that physical activity can be fun and benefical, not a burden.
