Before you read each chapter, define the terms that correspond to the chapter. Write the term and definition on a 3 x 5 index card. You will be able to find the definitions to these terms on one of the three listed internet sources (see syllabus). The terms are in one of three categories (Musical instruments, Music Theory or general). As you fill out cards keep them in your index card cases organized in the three categories and in alphabetical order within each category. Bring the cards with you to each class. If a term comes up in class or in the text book you can refer to your cards and you can add to the defnition if it is necessary.
