Onie has recently returned to Longwood after a seven-year hiatus from work in higher education. Given her experience directing assessment both at Longwood and at Hampden-Sydney College, Onie will be coordinating the outcomes assessment and professional development for the Student Affairs Division. As the past Director of the Career Center at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, she welcomes the opportunity to co-teach our "Project Success" class which addresses life skills, career development, and personal development of both our Senior Mentors and sophomore participants.

Onie's husband, Ray Brastow, teaches Economics in the Business School and they have two children, Tennant, a sophomore swimmer at Davidson College in North Carolina, and Kenzie, a sophomore participant in three sports at Prince Edward County High School. They are all active members in the local YMCA and Farmville United Methodist Church.
