Pam belongs to American College Health Association, Mid-Atlantic
College Health Association, and Virginia Association of College
Health Centers.
Pam has done presentations on human sexuality related courses with
undergraduates, nurse practitioner preceptorships, community wellness
fairs, student health partnerships, herbs/common and uncommon uses,
nutrition, family development issues, public health and safety,
HIV support/education.
Pam grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and started volunteer
nursing at UVA Hospital (1 mile walk from home) when she was 14
years old. Community health nursing became a passion through student
opportunities in Nelson County, VA. She worked in public health
and nursing 13 years before coming to Longwood in 1988. She raised
twin daughters (Kindle - BS Longwood '99 and Holly - MA in UGA '01)
and is an Elder and Choir Member at Farmville Presbyterian Church.
She has a golden retriever names "Old Yeller". Her interests include
gardening, singing, cooking, church, bee keeping, herbs, bookstores,
libraries, and junk stores.
