This course satisfies the General Education goals listed above.  Participation in this program waives General Education Goal 9.

In June 2010, you can join 1.4 billion people in experiencing one of the oldest and most dynamic nations on Earth!  Longwood University history professor Dr. Phillip Cantrell will be leading a three (3) credit course at Anhui University of Technology in which you will be partnered with a Chinese student to discover the rich and ancient culture of China through their eyes and your own!

Highlights include:

  • A stay in Beijing, with visits to the Great Wall, Tian’anmen Square, the Emperor’s Palace in the Forbidden City, and some of the 2008 Olympic sites
  • A train ride through the Chinese countryside
  • The city of Nanjing
  • The Yellow Mountain region where Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was filmed
  • Shanghai, one of the most cosmopolitan and high-tech cities in the world

The tentative cost of the program is $2,950.00.  This price will cover airfare, lodging, excursions, and meals.
Tuition is not included in the above cost. 

Tuition Rates for Summer 2010

In-State: $190.30 per credit hour
Out of State: $477.40 per credit hour

Group size is limited.
