billions of decisions. So too, the solutions are based on
the many decisions we each make everyday. Your
actions do make a difference! Decide to use all energy
only as needed - this includes electricity and gas. Be
devoted to producing as little waste as possible.

Longwood University has some organizations focusing
on the betterment of our campus and the environment
as a whole.

Sustainability Committee/ GreenCampus
The committee that put together this website has
many opportunities for students, faculty and staff to
jump in and tackle environmental issues on the
campus level. If you want to play a leadership role, or
have ideas on how to improve sustainability at

Longwood Outdoor Club
If you would like to get more involved in the
betterment of the environment through physical
activity, then the Longwood Outdoor Club may be for
you. The mission of the Longwood Outdoor Club is "to
raise environmental awareness through activities such
as canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, caving, etc." For
