Drop and Swap is an annual year-end waste reduction program established by two English 400 students. The program allows students to do one of two things: donate unwanted items at the end of the academic year during move out or swap an item that they intend to donate for a previously donated item.

The goal of the program is to divert waste from the local landfill, and provide non-perishable food to FACES, the local food pantry, and gently used items to non-profit organizations, such as Madeline's House, Goodwill, Tail Waggers, and the ReStore.

What to donate:

  • Unopened, nonperishable food
  • Clean, gently worn clothing and linens
  • Furniture
  • Small appliances
  • Electronics
  • Laundry detergent
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Books, CDs, DVDs, etc.

What not to donate:

  • Opened, expired food
  • Foam mattress pads
  • Pillows
