Longwood University is seeking Host Families for their Chinese Students during the Winter Break 2008-09

We are developing a list of potential host families who, if need be, are willing to host an international student during the Winter break (for one week or longer). Your willingness to open your doors, share friendship, and something about the American way of Life will go a long way in advancing cross-cultural and global understanding.

Fall Host Periods:

December 15 - January 12, 2008 (Winter Break)*

  • Persons willing to offer accommodations and expose international students to elements of American culture during the weekends and the Fall/Winter/Spring Breaks

If interested, see contact information below.  The cities of Chengdu and Chongqing in Sichuan Province are looking for English teachers to visit for one month this coming summer to teach conversational English. They are expecting and would prefer non-Chinese speakers. The municipalities will pay all travel costs, accommodation and meals. A small allowance per diem would also be paid. An expenses paid tourism trip to Beijing or Shanghai would also be included.
