Policy 4109
USE
OF INSTITUTIONAL FUNDS FOR LONGWOOD-RELATED TRAVEL
FOR PRESIDENT'S SPOUSE
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to establish permission for the institution to pay
for certain travel of the President's spouse.
II. POLICY
Institutional funds may be used for Longwood-related travel for the spouse of the President at various times when the spouse of the President is expected to attend social and business functions, meetings, and conventions; when a specific program is given for the President's spouse; or when the spouse is invited because of the role expectations for the President's spouse. These types of responsibilities not only enhance the ability of the spouse to assist the institution, but also provide increased visibility for the institution. Examples of expenses which could be associated with these events include travel, room, board, registration fees, and other related costs.
