CASHIERING AND STUDENT ACCOUNTS:
AUTHORITY, RESPONSIBILITY, AND DUTIES
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to establish the primary role of the Office of Cashiering.
II. POLICY
The Office of Cashiering is responsible for the collection,
control, and custodianship of all
institutional revenues. The Office of
Cashiering and the Office of Accounting and Financial
Reporting,
under the supervision of their respective directors,
are the Longwood units authorized to
transact
business with banking institutions in the name of Longwood. All
monies collected by the institutional
units for deposit must be transmitted to the Office
of Cashiering. The Office of Cashiering will furnish
full and true reports of
all such receipts from the departments. Depositing departments must keep
backup
and receipts for audit verification.
