COMMON AREA PRINTING
POLICY
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for billable
printing in the common areas of Longwood University controlled by the printing
system.
II. DEFINITIONS
Common Areas: All academic computing labs, the Language Lab and the
library.
III. POLICY
- General:
- Common area printing privileges are granted to students and may be
provided to faculty, staff or departments or for individuals or groups
not directly affiliated with the university for special events.
- All charges are billed to the individual, department or group via
LancerNet billing. Under no circumstances may a user exchange cash for
printed copies.
- A valid Longwood ID card or print card must be used to obtain a
print job via the printing system.
- Faculty/Staff: A faculty or staff member must have an
administrative personal account in order to print copies.
- Special Event Groups: Individuals/groups not directly affiliated
with Longwood may request printing through a print card issued by
Conferences and Scheduling. These cards will be charged at the non-Longwood
per-page rate for black and white printing and the non-Longwood color
per-page rate for color printing.
IV. ENFORCEMENT
The University regards any violation of this policy as a serious offense.
Violators of this policy are subject to disciplinary action, in addition to
possible cancellation of IT resources and systems access privileges. Users of IT
resources and systems at Longwood are subject to all applicable local, state and
federal statutes. This policy does not preclude prosecution of criminal and
civil cases under relevant local, state, federal and international laws and
regulations.
