DEI education and training provides students with the tools they need to succeed, regardless of background, race, color, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, nation of origin, native language, socioeconomic status or any other discriminating factor. It also provides safe, stimulating, and transformative learning experiences, resources for social and emotional growth, and opportunities for understanding self and others. Safe Zone & Ally Training is designed to educate the campus community on how to create and support spaces and environments that are more inclusive of the lived experiences of students who belong the LGBTQ+ community.
This program fosters a safer and more LGBTQ + affirming campus climate through the development and support of a network of allies who offer education and resources on LGBTQ + issues to the university community.
