"This is a place where all students can come and be themselves—free of judgment—and develop into citizen leaders."

The N.H. Scott Multicultural Center on the third floor of the Upchurch University Center is named in honor of Longwood University’s first African-American graduate: Nancy “Cookie” Scott.  It serves as a meeting room, gathering space, and safe/fun space for Longwood University’s underrepresented students and culturally based organizations.

The N.H. Scott Center for Diversity and Inclusion is an inviting and comfortable lounge area within the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
