Improved Internet Services for Students

Attention Students:

As communicated before winter break, upon your return to campus for the spring semester, network services in the residence halls as well as Longwood managed apartments will be managed by Shentel. 

WITH THE NEW LONGWOOD – SHENTEL PARTNERSHIP, YOUR INTERNET SERVICE HAS BEEN IMPROVED 

For many years Shentel has provided cable TV services to the Longwood community and Internet services to Longwood managed apartments.  Beginning January 2014, they will manage network servcies to on-campus residence halls as well. Major improvements have been made and students will enjoy faster Internet services as well as additional TV channels.  

OFF-CAMPUS STUDENTS

If you are an off-campus student, living at Longwood Landings, Longwood Village or Lancer Park, you will not have to do anything different to access your Shentel Internet and see the new improvements. You can log on with your existing Shentel username and password (which you set up at the beginning of the fall semester). Remember - to log in, use your Shentel Internet login information, and not your LancerNet ID.

ON-CAMPUS STUDENTS

On-campus students will need to create a new Shentel account to access the network services. You will not be able to access the new services with previously used Shentel account information or your LancerNet ID. To set up the new account you should follow the steps below:

Plug in the network cable, turn on your computer.
Navigate to an Internet browser.
At this point, the sign-in page will appear.   Click on "Please click here to register..."
Follow the on-screen instructions and click "Submit".
It may take a few minutes for you Internet connection to begin working.

Faculty/Staff

(on campus):

Log on to our Customer Support website to submit your work order. You will use your Longwood email address and your LancerNet password to access the system.

(off campus):

Send an email to helpdesk@longwood.edu detailing your name, issues that you are experiencing, contact information and a good time to connect with you in regards to this issue.
