Although Longwood is a state-funded institution, those funds cover less than 30% of our yearly budget. The rest comes mainly from gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations

Longwood's Office of Development reaches out to and maintains relationships with the donors – alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations – who are so important to sustaining the University.

The school’s Annual Fund Campaign is the primary means by which most of Longwood University’s funds are raised in support of the annual operating budget. The work of the Office of Development is essential to expanding private funding, enhancing public perception, and enabling the continued successes of Longwood and our future citizen leaders.
