Mac Duis is the Chief Operations Officer for Bedford County Public Schools. He has also served as Director of Instruction and elementary principal in Bedford.  Prior to that, he was a middle school history teacher and coach in Indiana and Pennsylvania and an elementary principal in Amherst County. He graduated from The College of William and Mary (BA-Government), Ball State University (MAE-Educational Leadership), and University of Virginia (Ed.D.-Educational Leadership). He has taught as an adjunct faculty member for Rosemont College and Randolph College. He lives in Bedford County where his wife, Sandy, is a clinical psychologist and adjunct professor, and his children attend middle and high school. He is beginning work as an adjunct professor at Longwood in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies preparing future school administrators.
