Sara Miller, EdD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education and Counseling. She is the Program Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education degree and the Director of the Early Childhood Development Initiative. She has a bachelor’s degree from Messiah College in Early Childhood Education, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Reading, and a doctoral degree from The College of William and Mary in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership.
Dr. Miller’s research interests include early literacy, literacy coaching, higher education pedagogy, and culturally responsive teaching. She has worked in public school systems in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, serving as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach, and teacher consultant. Currently, Sara is involved in many organizations focused on literacy research and early childhood education.
