Jen Spisak is an assistant professor of School Librarianship in the department of Education and Counseling. She spent twenty years in K-12 education, twelve of which were as a school librarian. As a school librarian, she was honored to receive her school’s Teacher of the Year award as well as the Virginia Association of School Librarians School Librarian of the Year award.

Jen earned her Ph.D. in Education with a focus in Research and Evaluation from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. She holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Virginia Tech.

Jen is an active member of the Virginia Association of School Librarians, the American Association of School Librarians, and Young Adult Library Services Association. She has written articles for a variety of library journals as well as a book titled Multimedia Learning Stations: Facilitating Instruction, Strengthening the Research Process, Building Collaborative Partnerships and is a frequent presenter at state, national and international conferences.
