This year’s Dr. C.G. Gordon Moss Lecture will be given by Dr. Melvin Ely, professor of history at the College of William and Mary and a Bancroft Award winner for his book Israel on the Appomattox. He will present a lecture titled A Horrible Intimacy: Courtroom Dramas of Life, Death, Love, Hate, Sex, and Slavery in Prince Edward County. The lecture will be followed by a reception and book signing.
