The Learning Center is located in Greenwood Library at the back of the Information Center.
Like the library, the Learning Center is a place where all students can learn collaboratively. Guided study groups, language practice sessions, writing consultation, and problem-solving groups are all available.
The Learning Center offices are located along the east side of the library's Information Commons. Rebecca Sturgill, the Director, is in Library 153 at extension 2050. Tonya Smith, Learning Services Coordinator, is in Library 155 at extension 2393, and Ronell Blizzard, Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services, is in Library 152 at extension 4918. The Writing Center is in Library 154.
Daytime office hours for the Learning Center are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. Consultation, and practice and study sessions are scheduled at a range of times. Please call 395-2393 or 395-2050 for assistance.
The Learning Center offers an opportunity for scholars across the Longwood campus to supplement their learning and integrate it into their in- and out- of-classroom experiences. The Center provides a range of services to meet diverse learning processes and an environment of sensitive and responsive support. In addition, the Center provides a forum through which faculty may delve into and share ideas about alternate instructional methods. Through all of its activities the Center encourages all individuals to explore the learning process.
