One lucky Facebook fan of Longwood University will win a VIP luxury trip to campus in April.

The Facebook sweepstakes, which ends April 4, is part of an innovative university initiative to reach out to potential students and their parents, as well as others who are interested in Longwood.

The winner will be treated to a campus tour with VIP accommodations including exclusive lodging at the Longwood Bed and Breakfast and dining at Charley’s Waterfront Café.

The package also includes a $25 gift card for Longwood apparel and other items at the university bookstore and a $50 gas gift card. When the winner arrives on campus, he or she will have a reserved parking space for convenient access to Longwood’s picturesque campus. In all, the package is worth nearly $500.

"A tour led by a Longwood Ambassador provides a great opportunity to experience the beauty and excitement of campus and learn more about Longwood’s quality academic programs," said Sallie McMullin, dean of admissions. "We’re always happy to show off our campus to new guests and the addition of an overnight stay in the B&B and dinner at Charley’s will make that experience even better."

The contest is open not only to prospective students and their parents, but also to alumni and anyone else with an interest in Longwood. The lucky winner will have up to two rooms at the historic Longwood Bed & Breakfast, a stately home built in 1880 that was the residence of several university presidents, conveniently located one block away from the main campus. Coupled with a $75 gift card to Charley’s Waterfront Café—one of Farmville’s premier dining locations—and vouchers for lunch at Dorrill Dining Hall, the package promises a trip to remember.

To enter, all one has to do is like the Longwood University Facebook page and click the "Win a Campus Tour" link at the top of the page. Or one can sign up for the sweepstakes directly. For more information, view complete rules and regulations. University employees and their families and students are not eligible for the prize.
