    The reach of education faculty members’ scholarly work extends to Africa and Asia

    This fall two Longwood University faculty members extended the reach of their scholarly work to Africa and Asia, connecting with colleagues many thousands of miles away to share their knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and the role of artificial intelligence in education.

    Kylie Gannon ‘23 and Leah Richardson ‘23 are working with Dr. Timothy Ritzert, assistant professor of psychology, on interpreting data collected in a nationwide survey of college students.

    Longwood University’s accreditation reaffirmed

    After a routinely scheduled, multi-year review of the entire institution, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges has formally reaffirmed Longwood University’s accreditation.

  • This year Longwood received three state grants totaling $350,000 to help bolster career success initiatives. Some of the funding is supporting stipends for student internships, such as the one George Gaston ‘24 did this summer with the Tri-City Chili Peppers.

    Longwood University’s Office of Alumni and Career Success recently received a $150,000 grant from the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) to enhance internships and work-based learning outcomes for students.
