National Teacher of the year Rodney Robinson speaks to a group of Call Me Mister students

In February 2020, Longwood welcomed National Teacher of the Year Rodney Robinson to campus for a series of speaking engagements that included a lunch meeting with the MISTERS at the R.R. Moton Museum.

Mr. Robinson currently teaches Social Studies at Virgie Binford Education Center, a school within the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center.

Over lunch at Moton, Mr. Robinson spoke passionately with the MISTERS about the school-to-prison pipeline and the importance of teachers like themselves providing role models for young students and advocating on their behalf.
