Transfer Students

What are we looking for?

Students who are successful at Longwood have:

  • A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • At least a C in college-level English, math and science

Applicants who have earned an Associate of Arts and/or Science degree from a Maryland or Virginia Community College or Richard Bland College with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA are guaranteed acceptance to Longwood University; however, some academic programs have additional admissions requirements.

If you would like to meet with a transfer counselor during your visit, please email admissions@longwood.edu at least one week prior to your scheduled visit.

Scholarships

Each fall, 20 scholarships ranging from $1,000-$2,000 are awarded to students who have completed the Associates of Arts, Associate of Science, or the Associate of Arts and Science degree from a Virginia community college or Richard Bland College.

To be considered, students must be planning to enroll full time at Longwood and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. Students whose admission applications and transcripts are received by March 1 will be considered for this scholarship. The average GPA for students receiving the transfer scholarship is 3.80. This scholarship is renewable for a second year if a student maintains a 3.25 GPA at Longwood University.
