Merit Scholarships
Longwood recognizes and rewards outstanding academic achievement, strong leadership and good citizenship. Students earning a GPA of 3.0 and higher are eligible to receive merit scholarships. Priority consideration is given to students who apply by December 1. These annual awards are renewable for all four years for those who meet the renewal criteria. In some cases, merit scholarship amounts may be influenced by other institutional awards.
It will automatically renew each academic year, if you:
- Maintain good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0
- Complete at least 30 credit hours each academic year (fall, spring, and summer) at Longwood

| Cormier Honors College Scholarship | Students accepted into the Cormier Honors College may receive additional scholarships, including two full rides, also renewable for four years. | |
Transfer Applicants
Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship
There are between one and ten $1,000 renewable scholarships available each fall for Phi Theta Kappa members. Availability depends on the number of renewed scholarships. Selection criteria are based upon merit and need. To apply, please email the Financial Aid office to request an application form: finaid@longwood.edu

Longwood Enslaved Ancestors College Access Scholarship
Longwood offers a one-time scholarship to be awarded annually to an eligible undergraduate student from Virginia to partially defray the cost of attendance. To be eligible, an applicant must demonstrate a personal and historical connection to slavery in Virginia or be a member of a specific community that has experienced the negative legacy born out of the institution of slavery.
The application period for 2025-2026 has closed. The new application will be posted when the application cycle opens for next year.
