Whether you’re on vacation, at a conference or just hanging out with other Lancers, what better way to show your Longwood spirit than by raising a Longwood flag? The Flag Raiser component of the 1 Hour A Month program makes it easy and fun to complete your one hour and earn Longwood gear.
To request the flag, just go to longwood.edu/ alumni and click on the 1 Hour A Month icon to find the flag raiser program and flag reservation form. After you receive the flag in the mail, take a picture with the flag at an interesting location or with fellow Longwood alumni. Then send a copy and description of the photo to alumni@longwood. edu and mail back the flag for the next Lancer to use.
The Flag Raiser program is a fantastic way to promote alumni love for Longwood while thanking the university— and its current faculty and staff—for continuing to prepare students for careers and to be citizen leaders.
LINDA NORRIS ’81
“The Flag Raiser program is a fantastic way to promote alumni love for Longwood while thanking the university—and its current faculty and staff—for continuing to prepare students for careers and to be citizen leaders,” said Linda Norris ’81 who displayed the Longwood flag while hiking the Bristlecone Pine Trail in Nevada’s Great Basin National Park. “Not only was it fun for me to show my love for Longwood, but many travelers who saw us setting up the photos were impressed with such a great idea for alums to promote school spirit,” she said.
