Admission Requirements
- Online application
- Unofficial transcript (only needed if leveling coursework was completed at a school other than Longwood)
- $40 application fee
Costs
Tuition for SLP Online Courses
- In-state: $295.00 per credit
- Out-of-state: $365.00 per credit
Billing
Longwood sends eBills to your Longwood email account. Bills are not sent via regular mail. Be sure to check your Longwood email account regularly or set it to forward to an account you monitor frequently.
Drop for Non-Payment
All tuition balances are due by the add/drop deadline for the course. SLP Online students with balances after that date will be dropped from their courses. SLP Online students with outstanding balances from previous terms will be removed from future term coursework until the balance is resolved.
Financial Aid
Under specific conditions, financial aid is available. You must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Please contact Longwood’s Office of Financial Aid at finaid@longwood.edu, (434)395-2077 or toll-free at (800)281-4677 for more information.
Financial aid is available for three consecutive terms to students meeting specific eligibility requirements.
Important Dates
Fall 2026
- Online applications due by August 17, 2026
- Courses begin August 24, 2026
- Last day to add/drop is August 31, 2026, by 5 p.m.
- Final payment deadline is August 31, 2026 (students with unresolved balances will be dropped from classes)
- Last day to withdraw with no academic penalty (all tuition and fee charges will still apply) is November 4, 2026, by 5 p.m.
- Courses end December 11, 2026
- Grades are due December 14, 2026
Spring 2027
- Online applications open on September 7, 2026
- Online applications due by January 6, 2027
- Courses begin January 13, 2027
- Last day to add/drop is January 21, 2027, by 5 p.m.
- Final payment deadline is January 21, 2027, by 5 p.m. (students with unresolved balances will be dropped from classes)
- Last day to withdraw with no academic penalty (all tuition and fee charges will still apply) is March 31, 2027, by 5 p.m.
- Courses ends May 7, 2027
- Grades are due May 10, 2027
Dropping A Course
If your plans change after registration, please drop the course promptly. Courses are in high demand and fill quickly.
Dropping a course by the add/drop deadline removes all tuition and fee charges.
How to Drop a Course Before the Add/Drop Deadline
Dropping via myLongwood
- Access myLongwood and select the Student
- Click on Planning and Registration under the Registration Tools
- In the lower right corner of your screen, you’ll see a Summary of your courses
- Click the dropdown beside the course and select Web Dropped
- Click Submit
- View your Student Detail Schedule under the Student tab to confirm you have successfully dropped the course(s).
Drop by the Add/Drop deadline
A Drop processed by the Add/Drop deadline removes tuition and fee charges.
How to Drop a Course with a Hold on Your Account
A hold is typically placed on your account if tuition charges have not been paid.
Withdrawing from a Course
Withdrawing from a course will result in receiving a grade of “W’ on your academic transcript. This grade does not have an impact on your GPA. All tuition and fee charges will still apply.
How to Withdraw from a Course Before the Deadline
Withdrawing from a course via myLongwood
- Access myLongwood and select the Student tab
- Click on Planning and Registration under the Registration Tools
- In the lower right corner of your screen, you’ll see a Summary of your courses.
- Click the Action dropdown beside the course and select Web Withdraw
- Click Submit
How to Withdraw from a Course with a Hold on Your Account
A hold is typically placed on your account if tuition charges have not been paid.
- Complete the Course Withdrawal form
- Submit the form to the Registrar’s Office
- Confirm receipt of all materials by calling the Registrar’s Office at (434)395-2580 or by email at registrar@longwood.edu
How to Withdraw from a Course After the Deadline
Course withdrawal requests are considered for medical or other non-academic emergencies no later than noon on the last day of classes. All tuition and fee charges will still apply.
Please provide:
- Written Request
- Emailed course withdrawal request from your Longwood email account
- Submit a written request via fax to (434)395-2750
- Supporting documentation from a physician or another applicable source
