The Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate program had 6 Graduate Student Research poster presentations at the Speech-Language Hearing Association of Virginia in April.

 

Leah Horton, Sera Chabinec, and Jalyn Taylor won 1st place out of 22 posters from across the state. The purpose of their pilot study was "to determine the effectiveness of an online vocal hygiene module for educating high risk physical education students about voice disorder prevention and to observe their vocal qualities before and after their student teaching experience." They presented on Phase One of their study and will be conducting Phase Two in the weeks ahead and presenting at the Spring Symposium of Research and Creative Inquiry on April 24.
