Orientation is your first event as an official Lancer! Get ready to meet other new international students, attend social events and learn about campus offices and the services they provide. You'll also receive your class schedule!
Academic advising and registration varies based on factors such as the time of your application/acceptance, category of student and degree type. You will receive further information on course registration from the International Student Services staff.
International student-athletes must work with Athletics on academic course schedules. Please communicate directly with your coach to determine when you need to arrive to Longwood.
August 13 & 14: Airport shuttle service from Richmond International Airport to Longwood University is provided by the Office of International Affairs. Please confirm your reservation in advance by completing the Airport Pickup Survey.
August 15-17: Participate in a three-day program for international students. You'll learn about achieving success in the American classroom and cultural adaptation as well as attend social activities and visit local stores.
August 18 (10 a.m.-3 p.m.): Attend an abbreviated Orientation Program hosted by the Office of First Year Experience.
August 18-21: During New Lancer Days (NLD), you'll meet and mingle with classmates, develop friendships with upper-class student leaders, learn about valuable resources available on campus and explore a variety of issues that you will undoubtedly face during your time at Longwood. Remember, attendance at NLD events is part of your grade for Longwood Seminar!
August 22: Classes begin
