English 400 in France Blog

This summer several Longwood students, led by faculty member Wade Edwards, while completing their foreign language requirement abroad, are participating in a section of English 400 in La Rochelle, France.  The theme, "Language and Identity," encourages them to investigate the role language plays in shaping personal, political, national or gender identities.  Students are also learning, from the position of a cultural outsider, to negotiate the various linguistic registers vital to public discourse in a democracy.  Access the ongoing blog above.
