IACS Accreditation

The purpose of the International Accreditation of Counseling Services, Inc (IACS) is to encourage and aid university counseling services internationally to meet high professional standards, inform the public about services that are competent and reliable, and to serve as a catalyst for communication among various counseling service providers.

Accreditation standards are based on the evaluation of five major categories:

1. The relationship of the counseling center to the university community.
2. Counseling services roles and functions.
3. Ethical standards.
4. Counseling service personnel.
5. Related guidelines.
