Biological & Environmental Sciences
Biology Major
Longwood offers diverse opportunities for students interested in all areas of biology.
Students pursuing a biology major select a specialization from several options, including ecology, organismal biology, and molecular biology.
Environmental Sciences
Geography Minor
Geography is the science of place and space. Geographers study where things are located on the surface of the earth, why they are located where they are, how places differ from one another, how places change over time, and how people interact with the environment.
Earth Science Minor
Earth Science focuses on all aspects of our planet, including the solid earth (soil and rock), water (fresh water and marine), atmosphere, and their interactions with living systems. Each of those aspects of the earth interacts with the others in many important ways and the study of these interactions is increasingly vital to society.
