The Longwood Alumni Legacy Scholarship was established by the Longwood University Alumni Association and the Longwood University Foundation in 1988. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize deserving undergraduate students who have legacy status by having a close relation who is a Longwood alumna/alumnus.

Longwood University takes great pride in our students and rewards those who most exemplify the Longwood spirit in academics, involvement, and citizen leadership.

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is an alumni-funded scholarship awarded every four years to one incoming student. The awarded student will receive the scholarship annually for their four years at Longwood. To be considered a Legacy at Longwood University, you should have at least one close relation who graduated from Longwood. This may include a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, primary caregiver, or other close relation. Recipients are selected based on a combination of their academic standing, activities, and personal vision of Citizen Leadership.

Returning students should apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship before February 10, 2023.

Applications for Fall 2023 will open in March.
