Dear Longwood Community,

In our fourth and final week of National Cyber Security Month, we will touch on just how digitally connected our world has become and the risks that follow. Check out these resources:

  • A Newsletter about Smart Home Devices: Our personal devices, from refrigerators and thermostats to cars and dishwashers, are connecting to the Internet (a phenomenon known as the Internet of Things, or IOT). The IOT makes your home more vulnerable to cyber criminals. Learn what you can do to secure Smart Home Devices from today’s threats.
  • A Newsletter about Passphrases: Learn just how simple it is to create passphrases and how to best use them to secure those devices in your home.
  • The Tip-of-the-Day Program: A program offered by SANS, the company that makes Securing the Human, to help you stay safer on a daily basis.

If you have any questions about our activities in October or suggestions on how to improve our cyber security efforts, please contact Information Security. They are responsible for our overall security awareness program and will be happy to hear from you.

Best,

The Information Security Team
