Athletic Team/Eligible Campus Group

Students who arrive on campus before Wednesday, August 21 (with an athletic team or an eligible campus group), will be provided “Where to Unload” information by their early arrival group. Those instructions (and the number of UNLOADING spaces) may vary slightly from the information below.

Continuing students who arrive on campus on/after Friday, August 23, should plan to use the designated UNLOADING spaces located adjacent to each assigned residence.

Residents of Johns and Moss Hall should access Spruce Street to unload.

Johns Hall and Moss Hall

Use GPS Address: 515 S. Main Street Farmville, VA 23901

AUGUST 21 & AUGUST 22 MOVE-IN INSTRUCTIONS: From South Main Street, enter campus at Wynne Drive. Turn right onto Race Street, and then turn right onto Franklin Street. Please wait patiently as vehicles advance onto Spruce Street using the sidewalk adjacent to the Pierson Fitness Center. Vehicles may not be left unattended. (In order to maintain a safer ONE-WAY traffic flow, vehicles will not be permitted to enter Redford Street from South Main Street.)

Vehicles towing a utility trailer will be directed to unload in the upper-Pierson Fitness Center Parking Lot. No overnight parking is permitted.

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Lancer Park

Use GPS Address: 899 Clubhouse Circle Farmville, VA 23901

From Third Street, enter the Lancer Park community at Cormier Drive. Check-in will be held in Brown Commons, a large, centrally located community center in Lancer Park.

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Longwood Landings

Use GPS Address: 150 S. South Street Farmville, VA 23901

From South Main Street, turn onto Putney Street. Enter the Longwood Landings community at South Street, (entrance adjacent to McDonald’s). Drivers should activate vehicle flashers when unloading. Check-ins will be held at the Longwood Landings, located in the recreation lounge or front desk area in the Southeast building (that houses Chick-fil-A).

Vehicles may not be left unattended.

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Register Hall and Sharp Hall

Use GPS Address: 508 Vine Street Farmville, VA 23901

AUGUST 22 MOVE-IN INSTRUCTIONS: From Griffin Blvd., enter campus at Vine Street and immediately turn right into the Reid Parking Lot. Please wait patiently as vehicles advance onto Race Street to unload in front of Register Hall and Sharp Hall.

Campus volunteers will closely monitor this special move-in traffic pattern.

Vehicles may not be left unattended.

After unloading, vehicles should return to Griffin Blvd. by EXITING Race Street and turning left onto Redford Street. (In order to maintain a safer ONE-WAY traffic flow, vehicles will not be permitted to enter Race Street from Redford Street.)

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Stubbs Hall

Use GPS Address: 306 Griffin Blvd Farmville, VA 23901

From Griffin Blvd., enter campus at Redford Street or Madison Street to utilize the designated UNLOADING spaces. A minimal quantity of UNLOADING spaces will also be available in the Cox Hall Parking Lot.

Vehicles may not be left unattended.

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Wheeler Hall

Use GPS Address: 114 Griffin Blvd Farmville, VA 23901

AUGUST 22 MOVE-IN INSTRUCTIONS: For assigned Wheeler residents, UNLOADING spaces will be provided in the Jarman Parking Lot and the Wheeler Parking Lot.

Access to the Jarman Parking Lot is from Griffin Blvd. Enter campus at Madison Street and continue to the end of the street, turning left into the lot. The Wheeler Hall Parking Lot, located near the intersection of Griffin Blvd. and High Street, is accessed from Griffin Blvd. In both locations, a limited number of UNLOADING spaces will be available.

Drivers should activate vehicle flashers when unloading.

After unloading, residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Please move unloaded vehicles immediately so that others can advance into the unloading area.

Where to Park After Unloading

Do not park in private business parking lots. Towing is strictly enforced.

Residential students should park in their designated parking permit zone.

Families/non-students Parking (No overnight parking is permitted in these lots)

  • Virginia Street Parking Lot (located behind Longwood Landings; access lot from Putney Street or Virginia Street)
  • Vernon Street Parking Lot (access lot from Putney Street, turning right onto Vernon Street)
  • Longwood Landings SE Parking Lot (located adjacent to the Longwood Landings’ check-in site)
  • Cox Parking Lot (access lot from Griffin across from Cox Hall)
  • Reid Parking Lot (located on the corner of Race Street and Vine Street, across the street from Register Hall). Spaces in the Reid Parking Lot will not be available until after 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

Best Practices

  • Students are encouraged to limit family/friend move-in helpers to 3 
  • Remain vigilant and patient with other vehicles and
  • Students are encouraged to bring their own dollies or handcarts to expedite the move-in
  • Do not illegally park on campus or attempt entry into restricted/barricaded
  • Stay hydrated and take necessary measures to ensure self-
  • For a medical or emergency situation, dial 911.
