Department of Music
Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Music at Longwood University. I invite you to explore our website and learn about the many facets of our program. I'm certain you'll find that our efforts resonate clearly with your own interests.
Music plays a vital role in the campus life of Longwood, and our department is set for another busy and exciting year in 2009-10. Academically, we provide the highest quality instruction and exceptional musical experiences for our students as we work to prepare them for a professional career or graduate study.
Our department also serves as a primary cultural resource for Central Virginia. Through our concert offerings and outreach, we touch the lives of thousands in a large geographic area. We take great pride in what we do, and invite you to join us at any of our upcoming events, such as the traditional Holiday Dinner and Concert, the concerts of the Chamber Music Series, ensemble concerts, and recitals by faculty and students.
I believe that this year will prove once again that Music at Longwood is on the move. I look forward to working with the faculty, administration, staff, students, alumni, and patrons - all the people who are the program and share a vision for its excellence. Here's hoping we'll see you soon!
