Make an Immediate Impact for Our Students

Longwood Family Scholarship Program increases scholarship dollars to help Longwood attract and retain students and inspire new donors to invest in student success.

Five Steps to Participate

-Longwood University Family Scholarship Program logo. The words “Longwood University” appear in gray capital letters above. “Family Scholarship Program” is written below, with “Family” in a navy script font and the rest in bold navy type. The design conveys an elegant and professional academic identity.
  • Lead donors have given matching funds to establish their “family tree” of scholarships.
  • You commit a gift of $15,000 to your family scholarship of choice. Your gift can be given in a lump sum or payable over 3-5 years.
  • We’ve simplified the donor-requested criteria to make the scholarship more awardable and impactful. You may designate your scholarship to nursing or the area of greatest need (unrestricted).
  • Once the gift agreement is signed and the first pledge received, your gift is matched at $15,000 for a total gift of $30,000.
  • Of the total gift, $5,000 will go directly into an expendable scholarship fund, making $1,000 scholarships immediately available to students for up to five years. The remaining $25,000 will go into the endowment, ensuring future generations of Lancers will receive scholarships as well.

*If pledge payments are one year overdue, your money becomes expendable and the match funds are returned to the original fund

You can designate your scholarship to one of these two areas:

  • Area of Greatest Need (Unrestricted)
  • Nursing
