Our summer hours vary. Please check our available appointment times from our Make an Appointment link. 


Before your Session

  • Open your document in Google Docs
  • Go to the share button and click “anyone with link can edit”
  • Copy and paste the link into an email and send it to 
    24 hours before your scheduled tutoring session

Starting Your Online Writing Center Session

From the email you received from the Writing Center, click on the invitation link. You must wait until the start time of your tutoring session to click on the link.

Enter in your name and email address.

You should automatically show up in the WebEx meeting room.

Pull up the Google Doc so that you can see both the document and your tutor.

If you are having problems with sharing the Google Doc, try sending the link to the email address above again.

Interacting with your tutor


Check to make sure that your microphone is turned on. Your tutor will see that the “integrated audio” button is turned on.

Sharing Video

On the “Meeting” menu, select “Options” to check that video is enabled.

  • Click the video button next to your name in the Participants panel
  • Double-click the tutor’s video to display it in full screen
  • To stop video feed, click the video button again
