Lancer Student Investment Fund

In 2002, the Longwood University Foundation Board designated $250,000 to establish the Lancer Student Investment Fund, a portfolio managed by students that provide opportunities for growth, knowledge, and investment experience. Members autonomously manage a collection of NYSE equities. Since its inception, LSIF has benefitted from the mentoring of Brad Watson of Davenport & Company, LLC.

In 2019, the members of LSIF provided $375,000 to join the Family Scholarship Program. After receiving matching gifts, this commitment established 25 new endowments which provide $25,000 in scholarships annually for the students in the College of Business and Economics.

In 2023, the Lancer Student Investment Fund surpassed $1.5 million in investments.
